Il Respiro del Documentario
Lecture di Luciano Barisone

Saturday 9th october – 10.30

Duration: 2h 30’

Instead of the reductive term of «documentary» my speech prefers to use that of «cinema of the real». Cinema was thus born and, while the «document» documents (which is to certify), cinema reveals. This kind of cinema can be close to poetry or prose; but can only be a cinema «subject», a cinema «gift» and not a cinema «object», a cinema «goods». Its gift is that of filming the «visible» in order to capture the «invisible». And all that passes through its breath (tone, pauses, accelerations) like it happens in music…

In 2002, he founded the Alba Infinity Festival, for which he has acted as artistic director until 2007. From 2008 to 2010 he was artistic director at Festival dei Popoli in Florence.
