MEDIA TRANSGRESSION (50″)
Video as Art in Odessa in the 1990s
Edited by MoOMA Museum of Odessa Modern Art
Guest Valerie Schevchenko – MoOMA
Thursday 10, 5.30pm, Postmodernissimo Cinema
A video-art exhibition that, with irreverent irony and powerful immediacy, scrutinizes the role and enjoyment of mass and social media in contemporary culture. Through the projection of 10 video works from the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in Odessa (pirate video, ready-mades, deconstruction and montages …), Valerie Schevchenko leads us to the discovery of the avant-garde of the subversive Ukrainian independent art scene of the 90s and 2000.
